About
A beautifully restored small castle and country house on the Batinah coast, operated by the Ministry of Heritage and Culture. Bait Na'aman is an example of a prosperous Batinah agricultural estate — the central fortified tower surrounded by palm groves, agricultural land, and service buildings that once constituted the economic unit of a wealthy Batinah landowner.
The restoration has been done with great sensitivity, preserving the original materials and construction techniques while making the building safe for visitors. The surrounding palm garden is peaceful and beautiful, and the estate gives an excellent sense of how traditional Batinah agricultural society was organised.
