About Al Ashkharah Beach

A long sandy beach in the small coastal town of Al Ashkharah at the edge of the Wahiba Sands desert, where the sand dunes of the Empty Quarter meet the Arabian Sea. Popular for camping, fishing and the extraordinary desert-meets-sea scenery.

Al Ashkharah is one of Oman's most dramatic geographical settings — behind the beach lie the vast orange dunes of Wahiba. On a clear day you can see the dunes rolling to the water's edge.
